Review guidelines
Reviews on GetValetParking exist for one reader: the next person deciding whether to hire a valet operator for a wedding, a restaurant shift, a hospital contract or a corporate event. Every rule below follows from that. A review that helps that reader gets published, whatever the star count; one that cannot help them does not, however strongly it is felt. These rules bind reviewers and operators alike, and they are part of the terms an operator accepts when they claim a listing.
What a review has to be
First-hand
You hired the operator, or you worked with them directly at the event. Not what a colleague told you, and not what you read somewhere else.
Recent
The job happened within the last two years. Valet crews, managers and pricing all turn over; an account of a 2019 event tells the next planner very little about 2026.
Specific
What actually happened: how many attendants arrived, when they set up, how keys and cars were handled, whether the insurance certificate and invoice showed up as agreed. Critical is fine. Vague is not useful to anyone.
Yours
One review per operator per job, written by you rather than generated by an AI tool. If your view changes, update the review you already wrote from your private link rather than posting again. We accept at most one review per person per operator every 180 days, which is enough to revisit a long-running relationship and not enough to flood a listing.
Clean of personal details
No full names of staff, phone numbers, licence plates or home addresses. We redact them before publishing and tell you what we took out.
What we remove, and why
Every removal is recorded against one of these reasons, and both the reviewer and the operator are told which one applied. Nothing is removed for being critical.
The writer was not a customer
The reviewer did not hire the operator and did not work with them directly at the event they describe. Second-hand accounts are removed, however accurate they may be.
Conflict of interest
Owners, employees, family members and competitors do not get to review an operator. Disclosing the connection does not make the review publishable โ it is still removed, and it never counts towards a rating.
Personal information
Staff members' full names, phone numbers, email addresses, licence plates and home addresses come out. Usually we redact the detail and publish the rest, and we email the reviewer to say what we removed and why.
Harassment or abuse
Threats, slurs, sexual content, or targeting an individual rather than describing a service. A blunt account of a bad job is not harassment; an attack on a person is.
Off topic
Content about a different business, a political argument, or anything that is not about valet service this operator provided. Reviews are also removed when they describe a different company's work.
Duplicate
The same job, reviewed twice, or the same text posted on several operators. Update your existing review instead of writing a second one.
Incentivised
Anything written for a discount, a gift, a refund or a payment, whatever the star count, and anything an operator solicited from happy customers only.
The author asked us to remove it
Reviewers remove their own reviews from their private link at any time, with no reason given and nobody to ask.
A legal requirement
A court order, or a credible defamation notice that a person here has read and assessed. Never "the operator did not like it".
Paying for reviews
Nobody may pay for, discount, or gate a review on this site. Concretely, an operator may not offer money, a rebate, a gift, a free service or a prize draw in exchange for a review; may not condition anything on the review being positive; and may not ask only the customers they expect to be happy. An operator may tell a customer that the review page exists. That is the whole of what is allowed.
This site never asks anyone for a review either โ see how we verify reviews.
Rules for operators
These are part of the claimed-listing terms. Breaking them is itself a removal reason.
- One public reply per review. Claimed listings may reply once, publicly, under the review. A short, specific reply is what other planners actually read.
- No sentiment-conditioned incentives. No offering anything for a review, and no filtering who gets asked by how happy they seem.
- No suppression. A negative review is not removable by request, by upgrading a listing, or by disputing it repeatedly. Disputes are for reviews that break these guidelines, and are decided on the guidelines alone.
- No legal threats. Threatening a reviewer over a review is grounds for removing the listing's ability to reply, and in a serious case the claim itself.
If you think a review breaks these rules
Reviewers and readers can report a review from the profile; claimed operators can dispute one from their dashboard. Either route sends it to a person. If you want your own review gone, you do not need us at all โ the private link in our email removes it immediately.
